أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ - Have you seen, الذَّكَرُ - The male, الأُنثَى - The female, أَسْمَاء سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا - Names you have named them, أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُم - You and your fathers, تَهْوَى الأَنفُسُ - [their] souls desire, الْهُدَى - The guidance, لا تُغْنِي - Will not avail, شَفَاعَتُهُمْ - Their intercession, يَأْذَنَ اللَّهُ - Allah gives permission, الظَّنَّ - Assumption , فَأَعْرِضْ - Turn away, ذِكْرِنَا - Our remembrance, الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا - The worldly life, إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ - Indeed, your Master is most knowing, ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ - Who strays from His path, اخلاص - Sincerity (integrity)  , التقوى - Taqwa "forbearance, fear and abstinence." Some, توحيد - Tawhid (the oneness of God), صمود - Steadfastness (remaining firm on your Iman) (faith) in times of difficulty and staying patient whilst trusting Allah., شجاعة - courage ( to stand up to defend the truth),
