יוֹם טוֹב הָרִאשׁוֹן שֶׁל חָג - The first yom tov day of Sukkos, שֶׁחָל לִהְיוֹת בְּשַׁבָּת - that falls out on Shabbos, כָּל הָעָם - all the people, מוֹלִיכִין אֶת לוּלְבֵיהֶן - bring their lulavim, לְבֵית הַכְּנֶסֶת - to shul, לַמָּחֳרָת - On the next day, מַשְׁכִּימִין וּבָאִין - they get up early and come, כָּל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד - each and every one, מַכִּיר אֶת שֶׁלּוֹ - recognizes his own, וְנוֹטְלוֹ - and takes it, מִפְּנֵי שֶׁאָמְרוּ חֲכָמִים - because the chachomim said, אֵין אָדָם יוֹצֵא יְדֵי חוֹבָתוֹ - a man does not fulfill his obligation, בְּלוּלָבוֹ שֶׁל חֲבֵרוֹ - with the lulav of his friend, וּשְׁאָר יְמוֹת הֶחָג - And the other days of Sukkos, אָדָם יוֹצֵא יְדֵי חוֹבָתוֹ - a man does fulfill his obligation,
