Managing Risk is the responsibility of: - Individual Brothers & Chapters, Corporate Office, District & Region leadership, How does a chapter obtain insurance for an event? - Pay their insurance, Submit special event checklist premium, The Special Event Checklist must be completed - At least (21) twenty-one days prior to the event date, What is the process to add an additional insured party to the insurance? - Submit the Additional Insured Request Form(21 days in advance), When Brothers are transporting special event attendees - Engage a licensed third party transportation vendor, When alcohol is served at a public Fraternity function the following is necessary - Food and non-alcoholic beverages, Serving Alcohol is allowed if it is served in - prohibited unless supplied and managed by a licensed caterer, Abuse of the consumption of alcoholic beverages by brothers or guest on chapter premises or a chapter sponsored event: - Is prohibited, Fraternity members can serve or sell alcoholic beverage to persons under “legal drinking age.” - Never, Chapters and members who have violated the Fraternity Alcohol and Drug Policy will be - Subject to disciplinary action by the Fraternity and may include expulsion of members and de-chartering of the chapter, Alcohol is permitted at recruitment activities, intake activities, and initiation ceremonies provided that: - Never permitted, The final line of defense in liability matters is - Insurance, Which event is not required to have special event insurance - Regularly scheduled business meeting, If a college chapter’s institution where it is seated requires it be named an additional insured - The additional insured section of the special events checklist must be completed, The additional insured fee will be waived if the special events checklist is submitted 21 days prior to the event date , The Special Event Checklist requires the signature of the: - Chapter President, Event Chairman and Alpha Advisor (college chapters), During normal college chapter operations, only the following regulations apply: - Fraternity regulations, Institutional regulations, City, County and State statutes , Liability issues applies to - Individual Brothers, Chapter officers, Alpha Advisors, Chapter members who are not officers , Alpha Advisors - have to meet certification requirements, have to be active with an alumni chapter, required to know about hazing laws,  , Each chapter must ensure that all of its officers are - Properly certified, Maintaining the database of Brothers who have completed Risk Management training is the responsibility of - The Corporate Office, Any Brother who becomes aware of, or suspects that violations of Fraternity policy have occurred is required to - Report the incident, The Athletic Event Participation Waiver should be completed for each - Participant in the event, In case of serious injury at an event the following should occur - The Incident Claim Reporting form should be filled out completely with all details, The form should be mailed to the Corporate Headquarters, The form should be emailed to membership@apa1906.net, A phone call should be made to the appropriate Alpha officials , If a chapter sponsors an event where alcohol is served - Liability may extend beyond the time that the event ends, When sponsoring an event requiring insurance coverage, a special events checklist must be - Sent to the corporate office within 21-days prior to the event, Completed and filed with the Alpha Advisors signature (College Chapters) , Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity - Provides service and advocacy to the community, Promotes academic excellence, Develops leaders, Promotes brotherhood, “Chapter Alumni” or former members of college chapters - Should be treated only as guests at all chapter activities, Violation of the Risk Management Policy will lead to - Lawsuits, Expulsion, Accountability standards that should be in place and actively utilized are - Brothers and Chapters are In Good Standing, Minimum grade point averages for college chapters and members, Regular reviews of all chapters for having their required number of delegates at convention, The performance of service projects and national programs, etc. , There are no perfect ___________ because there is always room for doubt.
