1) I'm so glad summer is coming. School is almost out. I love summer. Each year, we take a vacation at the beach. We spend seven days at a house we rent. It is right across the street from the beach. It has a big deck off the second floor. We often eat our meals up there and watch the waves. Each morning, we go across the street and spend a few hours at the beach. We ride on body boards, swim, and build sand castles. In the afternoon, we sometimes go shopping or to a water park. Sometimes in the evening, we go back and walk on the beach. We collect shells. Most people went to the large shopping mall just outside the city limits or shopped in the main city itself. However, a few brave entrepreneurs decided that our town had potential, and they opened some unique shops. They scheduled some special events like concerts and art fairs, which brought more people to the main street. As more people came, more businesses opened. We had seen several added in just the last year, including a tea room, coffee shop, antique store, an old-fashioned general store. The most recent addition was A Second Home, a store run by a local charity that sells used items and clothing.
