It is measured by the gram in the metric system and by the ounce and pound in the U.S. system., Digital Scale - Science tool used when measuring weight., Data - Facts, figures, or other pieces of information that can be used to learn about something., Matter - Anything that has mass and takes up space., Substance - The material, or matter, of which something is made., Material - Substances of which something is composed or can be made., Predict - To say or estimate that something will happen based on observation, experience, or scientific reasoning., Pattern - Something that happens or appears in a regular and repeated way., Open system - Freely allows both energy and matter to be transferred in and out of the system., Closed system - Does not allow matter and energy to be transferred in or out of the system., Temperature - The degree of hotness or coldness of an object or a substance., Indicator - Points to, suggests, or shows something., Formed - When something is made or created from something else., Original - The first or earliest; not a copy; real., Physical Change - Any change to the physical properties of matter where the final product is still composed of the original substances., Chemical Change - Takes place when two or more substances are mixed together and an interaction occurs that causes them to change to a new substance., Irreversible Change - Takes place when original substances are changed into a new substance and cannot be changed back to what they were originally., Energy - The power or ability to make something work or be active., Heating - Energy flows from hot objects to cool objects., Transfer - The natural flow of heat from warmer objects to cooler objects., Particles - Tiny bits of matter that make up everything in the universe., Conductors - Materials that allow heat to transfer from one material to another faster., Expand - Particles inside materials move with speed and force, colliding into one another, causing them to spread out.,
