Interphase - longest phase of the cell cycle, G1 - Cell grows in size and organelles replicate, S phase - DNA replicates (from 1 set of DNA to 2 sets of DNA), G2 - Cell continues growing and preparing to enter mitosis, prophase - nucleus disappears, chromosomes become visible and spindle fibers form, metaphase - chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell known as the equator., anaphase - the chromosomes get pulled apart by spindle fibers, telophase - chromosomes dissolve into chromatin, nuclei are formed at opposite ends of the cell, cytokinesis - the cytoplasm divides and two identical daughter cells are created.,
