הַיָּשֵׁן תַּחַת הַמִּטָּה - One who sleeps under the bed, בַסֻּכָּה - in the sukkah, לֹא יָצָא - does not fulfill, יְדֵי חוֹבָתוֹ - his obligation, נוֹהֲגִין הָיִינוּ - we were accustomed, שֶׁהָיִינוּ יְשֵׁנִים - that we would sleep, תַּחַת הַמִּטָּה - under the bed, בִּפְנֵי הַזְּקֵנִים - before the elders, וְלֹא אָמְרוּ לָנוּ דָבָר - and they did not say anything to us,
