Elisha would warn the King of Israel where the Aram army was planning to camp, so he could put guards in that area. At first, the King of Aram thought one of his generals must be a traitor, informing the king of Israel of his plans. But when he learnt the informant was Elisha, he decided to send troops to capture him., ‘Don’t be afraid,’ Elisha replied. ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ Then Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.’ The Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha., As the enemy came down toward him, Elisha prayed, ‘Strike this army with blindness.’ God struck them blind as Elisha had asked., Elisha told the blind soldiers, ‘Follow me, and I will lead you to the man you are looking for.’, Once they were in the city, Elisha said, ‘Lord, open the eyes of these men.’ God immediately allowed them to see and they were shocked to find they were captives in the city of Samaria. The King of Israel had the enemy surrounded and asked Elisha, ‘Shall I kill them?’ Don’t kill them,’ Elisha ordered. ‘Would you kill prisoners you had captured with your own sword or bow?, ‘No, give them food and water and then release them to go back to their land.’ So the King prepared a great feast for them. After they had finished eating and drinking, he set them free to return home. After the mercy shown to them, the bands from Aram stopped raiding Israel’s territory..
