CABG Pre Procedure: Informed consent - correct spots for removing vein, Med discontinuation prior to surgery - diuretics and anticoagulants, CABG Post Procedure: Will need to splint with pillow to cough and deep breath, Early mobility will help with recovery, Be aware of A-Fib, watch for signs graft collapse - hypotension, watch for signs of graft bleeding - hypertension, ICD: Shocks the heart with generator if there is no beat, Works when patient doesn't have a beat, rhythm is okay, ICD/ Pacemaker Teaching: microwaves are okay, must know if device is MRI safe, keep device information, med list, and safety alert tool on them, don't move arm, could dislocate wires / leads, Need regular check ups with provider, if pacemaker, know rate the device is supposed to be set at, Unstable Angina: w/ exercise or emotional stress, but increases in occurrence, severity & duration over time, Nitro teaching, Pacemaker: rhythm is not okay, needs device to set rhythm,
