Each branch has the right and responsibility to monitor the others' activities., Division of political power is separated between executive, legislative, and judicial branches and each branch has separate and independent powers., Personal liberties/privileges guaranteed by the Bill of Rights that cannot be taken away., Example: Regulate interstate and foreign trade vs. regulate business within the state, Citizens elect Senate and House members that represent their views., Government officials are subject to the same Constitutional laws as citizens., Presidential candidates are nominated and voted on in a general election., The Legislative branch brings impeachment charges against the President and the Judicial branch oversees the hearing., Congress makes the laws; The President enforces the laws; the Supreme Court interprets the laws, Citizens can protest and write articles against political issues they disagree with.,
