Find a black and white vintage portrait in the 'Spangler Portraits' folder on the X drive, Open black and white portrait in Photoshop, Change the Mode to 'RGB' colour, Use the Polygonal Tool to cut out your figure, Right click and select 'layer via cut', Delete the layer containing your photograph background, Use the crop tool in 4:5 ratio to expand the background space of your image, Use Adobe colour to select two colours inspired by Tyler Spangler's work, CTRL+click on the layer image to select your cut out face, Create a new layer and use the paint bucket tool to fill your selection, Select your colour layer and choose the Move Tool. Use arrow keys to nudge your colour layer into view, Ctrl+T to bring up transform tools - enlarge your colour layer slightly and position so it is appearing behind your photograph layer, Use the Normal Lasso tool to neaten the shape of your colour layer. Paint bucket tool to fill selection, To make your second colour layer, Alt+Click on your first colour layer and drag this outwards, Fill your second colour layer with your second choice of colour, Repeat process to fill the whole background.
