To establish justice - to make things fair and honest for everyone, To insure domestic tranquility - to make sure we have a nice, calm life, and get along with one another, To provide for the common defense - to protect us from other people or countries, To promote the general welfare - to help make life good for everybody - having a place to live, food to eat, and having friends, To secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity - to protect our rights and freedoms for ourselves and our kids- choose our religion and say what we think, Do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America - write down and live by a list of rules for our government to keep and people to follow,
