nitrogen and phosphorus in fertilizers and detergents, eutrophication of water, petroleum (gas or plastics) and heavy metals (mercury), human health problems like cancer and can poison aquatic animals, sediment (gravel, sand, clay) makes water cloudy, photosynthesis decreases causing the food web to collapse, superheated water from industry, water holds less oxygen when warm which harms organisms, pathogens (disease-causing organisms/viruses) from human/animal waste, causes a variety of health issues in humans when water is consumed.
