After three weeks here for work, I’ve noticed a few differences. It feels ____ most people here are quite polite when you first meet them. It amazes ____ see people waiting in queuesso neatly. It also strikes ____ that people say sorry, even if someone else bumps into them in the street. Sometimes ____ as if people are being very serious and then it ____ that they’re actually making a joke. It ____ me that even locals can’t always tell either! I’m studying for a year in a small town where it ____ everyone knows each other. So far, it ____ that the culture isquite casual compared to what I’m used to. It seems ____ there are nature reserves and fun new places to explore everywhere. It ____ that we have to watch out for poisonous snakes and spiders though. It’s ____ I’m scared of them exactly, it’s ____ I’d rather see them from a distance.
